Students will explore drawing materials, methods, concepts and expression based on visual observation. Abstract and Realistic art are explored through imagination and observation. If you are interested in drawing, painting, architecture, interior or fashion design, this class will enhance your confidence, skills and ability to draw and illustrate your ideas. Design

This class is an overview of design principles and practices, to give students an understanding of design rules, laws, and guidelines. Students will learn the language of design, how to think like a designer, how to judge between good and bad design execution, and where to go for additional resources of specialized design practice. Painting 1

Students will learn skills and techniques necessary for the creation of successful and expressive paintings. Projects will emphasize composition, brushwork, color mixing and the use of value and contrast. Painting 2

Building on skills from Painting 1, students will learn more sophisticated techniques and will be expected to work at a higher level of achievement. Abstract and Realistic art are explored through imagination, observation and design. Students will continue to work with acrylic paint and surface manipulation to develop an individual and personal style. The process for interpretation and evaluation of painting styles will be taught. Personal responsibility, self-motivation, and good problem solving skills are essential for success in this class.
Digital Illustration & Painting

By exploring digital illustration and painting with the Wacom stylus and tablet, students will be able to develop a body of work that reflects a range of problem solving, ideation, and versatility with techniques to demonstrate their Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator abilities.
