The programming in the Art & Design Department at MFHS encourages critical thinking, goal setting, and collaboration. The courses teach important life skills sought by top colleges, universities, and employers. In addition, the courses inspire students to confidently face challenges and achieve excellence through innovation and perseverance. Equally important, the program offers four Advanced Placement Courses for students that want to achieve at the highest artistic levels. We also offer The Creative Academy (Design, Communication and Media) that focuses on design, communication and media. Art students with high scholarship may join the nationally accredited student art organization, The National Art Honor Society. Overall, the MFHS Art Program not only promotes higher level thinking skills but also promotes their students’ outstanding artistic ability in numerous merit and juried exhibitions.
